I used to use the History bar to the left of my Explorer page to go quickly to various ST forums, and sometimes to go back to a thread I was interested in but had not subscribed to. Now, I find that the pages categorized under "slowtalk" are only identified as long numbers or codes which I cannot relate to. Is this necessary? Or don't other people use them for return purposes too?

Hmm. My laptop crashed, then I went back online and History was back to its old system. Guess it was me, not you!

Please, I would never use a Mac! The iPod is as close as I will go to Apple. I have been a PC person since day 1! (and before that a CPM person and before that a mainframe person)

I don't use that IE sidebar - but it does sound convenient!!

Glad you The Queen are a PC user too. That means it's REALLY all right, even if those Mac people do keep telling us we don't know how simple life can be.

I didn't use the sidebar until maybe a year ago, and then...well...there were so many options in the address bar when I started typing in "sl..." that I somehow realized it was simpler just to have History (ctrl-H) always showing a little on the left and click on Slowtalk, Slowtrav or Slowtrips (now Slowphotos) to see all the pages I'd looked at on the site for the same day, the previous day or week, &c. I even retrieved a lost Reply that way once. Far be it from me to type an address all the way out! Eek

Life is simple with your computer when you don't use it for much - otherwise it gets complicated fast! Just like everything else!!

I made myself a web page that I hide on one of my sites and it has links to everything that I do, then I set it as the default page for my browser.

That's what I keep trying to tell Dominic. He just thinks his computer is better.

I like the idea of the hidden octopus web page. I'll have to think about that - thanks!
