Hello everyone, I have a question about publishing my trip report.

I think that I published my trip report. (When I look under "My Trip Report," it says that it was released for publication.) However, I haven't received any confirmation email, and I don't see it under the recently published trip reports.

It's been 3 or 4 days, so I assume that I should just sit tight and wait. If publication/confirmation requires a real person to look at it, I understand the delay due to the holidays and other reports. My fear was that it was supposed to be some kind of automatic computer generated response, and that I might have done something incorrectly.

Thanks, Wendy

We have a page where you can see all the trip reports in the queue. You will be emailed when it is published.

http://www.slowtrav.com/tr/pending.asp

Your trip report is there. There is a link to our PENDING pages on the message board sidebar, on the right, under COMMUNITY.

Yes, all reports are read, checked for spelling, punctuation, etc, and links are checked before publication. You can always see the trip reports awaiting publication here. It looks like yours is on the list. You'll receive an email when it is published.

Thank you to both of you! I am impressed that someone takes the time to personally check trip reports. I was already writing up ours when I noticed the contest and decided to enter...so I probably finished faster than I would have otherwise (and maybe there are more mistakes?).

In any case, I really enjoyed the process of writing the report, thinking about our trip and reliving the memories. It was a good way to prolong the joy...Thanks for providing a great medium to do it!

Question for Pauline-my trip report is in the queue also. I want to enter it into the contest and I am not sure how to put a link to it. Do I have to wait until it is published?

I don't mind waiting at all-I just don't want to forget to do what I am supposed to do.....thanks, Brenda

No, you don't have to wait. Go ahead and post in the trip report thread, and I'll find the address when it has been published.

Many trip reports and travel notes will not be published by the deadline of December 5. As long as you have entered your trip report and clicked "publish" to send it to us, or uploaded your travel notes for me AND posted in the appropriate ENTRIES thread in the CONTEST forum, then you are entered. Don't wait for us to publish - once you have submitted something, post your entry and, as Chris said, we will add the link to it when it is published.

The reason I gave us 5 1/2 weeks from deadline to when winners are announced, is so that we have plenty of time to get everything published and then we can take our time reading everything. Last year I gave us two weeks and those two weeks were INSANE. Many travel notes did not get formatted correctly because I had no time to get it done - I am still finding pages now where I forgot to add photos or test all the links or put in nice formatting!!

My report is in the queue for publication and I would like to enter it in the contest, but when I tried to get into the message board to post. I got a message that I was not eligible to post. I should be registered. What shall I do?
Thank you,
Arline

OK, you're on the message board and posting, or I wouldn't be seeing your message here. Confused

Could you be more specific and include the exact text of the message you received to help us figure out what is going wrong?

The CONTEST forum is set so that you can only REPLY to threads, you cannot start a new thread. Post a REPLY in the appropriate thread to enter the contest.
