to link to the key word? I wanted to post a google map I am working on for comment, but I keep getting the whole URL. An untidy mess it looks.

I did read up on how to attach a URL and have been successful in the past. This one is really, really long for a google map. When I try to put it in, with a title, I only get the code, not a link.

Is there a limit on what the URL attachment feature can hold?

Huh. I'm stumped. Any of our techie Mods have the answer?
In the meantime, try tinyurl to get a shorter link.

Are you certain that you are using the Paste link in email or IM and not the link for embedding? I just tried one of my google maps and it worked fine. (see the testing forum).

If you want to have the map show in the thread (like a picture), then a mod would have to paste in the HTML code. We don't have HTML support enabled for members.

I saw your post and that is what I have been trying to do - post a link to a map I have made for comments and input.

I am not sure what you mean by using the paste link. Is that the one above the message box that says "URL" and has the two boxes in it (for the URL and the Title of the URL)? That is the one I tried.

I will post it to the test again and then you can see how it came out!

Hi,
I got the map to link by using the "email this link" on google maps and copied that URL. Then I used the "URL" box on the message.

Now I can post the link and get some input!
