I tried to alter my sig and followed, I think, the info on the edit page, but not only does my new site not show up, but the Slowtrav part is messed up and I didn't touch that one. What did I do wrong?

No conspiracy, just a database. When you make a change it does not immediately register on every post on the board. So if you make a change, make a mistake, then fix it - sometimes the mistake version will display for awhile. When you do a new post, you get the latest version and eventually all other posts are updated.
