I don't suppose it's been received by any chance?
I worked on it for 2 hours and when I pressed submit it just told me to log on aaahhh!
I don't know when I'll have the energy to rewrite it.
I know I should have done it in word but I was so proud to be enclosing my first photo on a review.

So sorry, Wendy. I just checked, and your review was not saved. Anytime you're working on something for a long period of time on a -- that's why we recommend writing reviews in your own word processor and then pasting them into the form.

We're planning an upgrade to the reviews system that will allow you to save a draft and continue to work on it as you can with trip reports, but it hasn't happened yet.

Hi Chris,
So I was just timed out? I was taking extra care as this was a ST prize as I'm sure you know!

Yes, it was an automatic timeout on our server. I just changed the form to override the system timeout, but that still doesn't make it safe to ever work that long on a computer without saving.

Wendy, I don't know how long this works or under what circumstances, but a few times when something similar has happened to me, I have been able to get the text back by clicking Ctrl-H from an Internet Explorer screen to get to the "History" view on the sidebar, and then review the sites listed. Not infrequently, one of them will be the Reply in process and I breathe a big sigh of relief. Just to be safe, though, I usually select everything (Ctrl-A) and then hit Ctrl-C every so often now to copy it, so that if my text disappears I will be able to replace it by just hitting Ctrl-V unless the whole machine has gone bonkers.

P.S. It's hard to believe, but this Reply just disappeared when I posted it, too. I couldn't get it back from History this time, but I had copied it just after I told you how I do that Happy , so here it is for what it's worth. Good luck.

Hello Dorothy,
Thank you for your help. Sadly I tried all that before I posted. The good news is that I have now nearly finished the second draft, the bad news is I was able to do it today because I didn't feel well enough to do anything else!

Can't think of a much more satisfying way to spend a sick day - it almost makes feeling crummy worthwhile, no? There There I have whole bookcases full of books to read when I get sick, but usually all I feel like doing then is sleeping. Hope you start feeling better as soon as you're finished with the review!

I had this happen a few months ago and it is so disappointing!! But, I made myself write the review again. I am sorry you are not feeling well Wendy! I sent in 3 hotel reviews the day before we left for Toronto last week because I was so freaked that I could do nothing else, and at least I felt like I was doing something. Which reminds me - I loved our hotel in Toronto - the Soho Met - and need to send in a review!

Thanks Pauline. I am doing a bit better today. I think it the stress of all those scans and the prospect of further surgery. ST is good for me because it helps me think of nice things.
I have even started work on my European Gardens feature!!!!
I hope things are improving for you ?

Yes, things are improving here. But I am using ST to avoid thinking about New Orleans and those other coastal places.
