I recently deleted all my old PM's but now sent a new one and have gotten a response in my e-mail box. I noticed there's no longer a PM notification on the forums and you can now reply from your e-mail. Am I missing something or is there still a PM notification as part of the forums?

Yes, there's a PM notification as part of the forums, but if you reply via your e-mail, it assumes you've viewed the PM and turns the notification off.

For example, when I logon in the morning to my e-mail account, I see a private message notification e-mail. I read the private message in my e-mail, and reply using the link in my e-mail. Then I open a window to go to SlowTravel Talk. I will not see a Private Message notificaiton flashing.

However, if I read the private message notificaiton e-mail but do not reply (and do not click view post in the private message notification e-mail). And then I go to the forums, I should still see the Private Message Notification.

Does that make sense?

All that said, sometimes your cookies get messed up and you may see a PM notification when you have none and vice versa.

Yes, it does make sense but I haven't replied to the PM in my e-mail box and there is still no PM notification on the forums. Prior to my deleting all my PM's there was always a PM notification flashing even though I read all the PM's. Now no notification is indicated on the forums. I guess it has to do with the cookie mess up you mentioned.
