I am very curious why the search engine in Slow Trav does not pull up any results when I search for "La Buca di Enea" (I search without caps....I wonder if that makes a difference, it shouldn't....). I have seen it discussed in forum threads, and now I have submitted a restaurant review, and it has been published, and yet the search engine still doesn't find it. Why is this? I am really stumped.

Okay - I just want to clarify something - are you using the Find button - on the forums or using this link to search the main site?

Definitely the Find button in the forums. But, I think also in a main page, asking it to search all of Slow Trav.

Okay - here's my guess - the review was just published yesterday, so I'm thinking Google (our search engine on the main site) hasn't indexed it yet and same goes for the Groupee index on the forums.

If you remember, try again in a day or two and see if it comes up.

Kim, I just noticed that the last date indexed on the Groupee search is May 18th. Search may be having a problem again. It shouldn't take a week right?

My concern is not for just finding "La Buca di Enea", but it raises doubts that the search engine will find any/all other searches I may wish to do--and just seems to me that something technical is wrong with the search process.

We've been having problems with the index for search on the forum (I keep having them rebuilt) and so far they haven't figured out why it's getting out of whack but even w/o that - it won't find something posted within 24 - 36 hours. However, with the May 21 one, it seems there out of whack again, so I'll have Groupee rebuild.

Okay - the full re-indexing must have worked, as I'm finding La Buca di Enea now. Hopefully though Groupee will figure out why it keeps going on the fritz.
