lets face it there are FAQ's and then there are FAQ's to the 3rd power. The ATM/money/credit card/travelers check is asked 5 times a week at least!. I think it would help to have a direct link perhaps in the right europe travel column.
I'm not sure if people would notice it. How about a highlighted topic, as I guess you call it (I've also seen the terms "sticky" or "pinned") on top, called something like "Read this before asking about changing money"?
The easier it is to direct someone to a direct link the shorter we can keep the threads on Money. Many people seem to say what about... keep it to the +/- of each of the 4 below.
We're discussing how to make links to the FAQs more visible, and other ways for people to find the information they need. Thanks for the suggestions.
As redundant these types of threads may be to some travel veterans, they are still new and worthwhile discussions for others who want to share their experiences. SlowTrav has room for all travelers at all stages of their journeys.
I also think it would be worthwhile to Pin a couple of the FAQs as topics on the appropriate boards. The two main ones that come to mind are the ATM/euro exchange topic, and the Tipping FAQ.
I think pinning a topic at the top of the board is the best way and the way other message boards do it. The issue though is not to "pin" so many that the new threads are way down at the bottom of the page.
