Pauline,

Sorry to butt in on someone else's problem, but I'm unable to start a new thread. I can't reply using the usual reply arrow, initiate a new private message, or do anything that opens a new window. I can reply with the little reply arrow on the right.

I had this problem once before and you helped me fix it, but I can't find that thread. I have a Mac and use Safari. Any suggestions? Pop up windows are NOT blocked - I did check that.

Thanks,

Callie

Callie,

I'm not very fluent in troubleshooting on the Mac. I would check the tips on Troubleshooting page. I'd start first by clearing the internet cache (temporary internet files) and deleting the Slow Talk cookies. Other than that, I would look at a security setting. I think the board uses javascript to do the menus and it may be blocked or disabled.

If all else fails, Callie, try using Firefox rather than Safari. You can download Firefox for free here.

Still not working. I did everything suggested, and am currently using Firefox, with no success.

Any other suggestions?

Callie

Email me (pauline @ slowtrav.com) with all the details and I will put in a trouble ticket.

Type of computer.
Operating system.
Version of Safari, version of Firefox.

Did you clear temporary internet files? Delete SlowTalk cookies? Check security setting? Have you rebooted? Is it working on another computer?

Was it all working on this computer before? Anything changed since?

I am going to start a new thread and move this discussion there - maybe someone else is having problems too.

Pauline,

I have an iBook, running Mac OS X (10.3.9), Safari is 1.3.2 and I don't know about Firefox, just downloaded it from the link Chris gave me. I ran all the cleaning programs that I have, repaired the disk utilities, deleted SLow Talk cookies, rebooted, checked security settings. Everything was fine before and I can't think of anything that's different with the computer. I'll get my husband to try with his computer in a little while.

Thanks,
Callie

Still having trouble. I can't make my husband's computer work properly as well, either in Safari or Firefox.

Any ideas?

Callie

Have you checked your that your browser has not disabled popups? Do you get popups on other sites?

Groupee have not had reports of any new problems with Macs and the message board. They suggest:
Check that the browser is not stopping the pop-ups. Other things that could interfere with pop-ups include adware or spyware blocking applications, as well as any internet security software.

Pop ups are not blocked. I'll check with my husband and see if he put any new security software on my computer that I'm not aware of.

Thanks,
Callie

I'm trying to get into "Create a Trip Report" and a pop-up comes up asking for the "master password for the software security device". I cannot log in the usual way. I also have Firefox.

Nancy, that message is not coming from the trip report software. It sounds like something for security software on your PC.
