Hello,

Don't want to step on any toes so thought I'd ask this here. I have some questions about making Lasagna with fresh home made pasta and would like to get some feedback from the Italians/ItalianoPhiles in the Italy Travel forum. I see that there is a cooking forum, but I don't have a premium mebership and can't really afford one at the moment. Is this frowned upon?

Thanks,
jb

Good question! The boundaries can be somewhat fuzzy at times, but the bottom line is that the Italy forum is for discussion related to travel to Italy.

If you want to know where to get the best lasagna in Italy, that's okay.
If you want to know if anyone in Italy will teach you how to make lasagna, that's okay.
If you want to know how they make lasagna in Italy, that's usually okay (that's the fuzzy part).

If you want a good recipe for lasagna or are wondering why yours doesn't come out well, those questions belong in the Food Forum.

We do this for several reasons. We want the travel forums to not become too cluttered with off-topic discussion; and we keep the Food Forum as a perk for those who become Gold Star Members, which helps keep Slowtrav on the air.

Thanks for asking, and thanks for your understanding.

Hi Amy,

I do understand. My questions is more along the lines of why mine doesn't come out right. I made some this weekend and fresh out of the oven it was the best I've ever had. Next day the pasta had melted and it was a doughy mess. Guess I'll wait till I get some extra cash and post in the Food Forum.

Thanks,
jb
