I am unfamiliar with Paris' CDG airport and wondering if anyone knows whether or not an hour connection can happen. We only have an hour for the next flight to Florence in June.

Have you tried using the find button at the top of this page? If you type in connections at CDG you can find several prior discussions on this board; here's one to get you started.

CDG is about the worst airport in the civilized world. It was cutting edge when built, but is now horribly overused. So gird your loins and it'll be fine.

Your CDG experience will depend on your airline. Air France has the main terminal sewed up, and if you're flying them, your connection will likely be a short distance. If you're flying anyone else, your connection distance could be immensely long, as in requiring a three quarter mile indoor walk.

Call your airline and find out exactly where you'll disembark and board. If you have to go from one terminal to another, ask if they'll be shuttling you. (Very common.) If not, get airport shuttle info from them. If they can't help, Google "CDG airport map" and look at your distances and probable routes. Use the baggage carts when possible, but be aware the carts often can't be taken from one terminal to the next, even when you remain indoors and are schlepping through passageways.

Keep your passport handy at all times. Some transfers take you out of one terminal to another and you have to show your passport.

The one saving grace of the place is the signs: they are large, very simple and easy to follow.

Thanks!

We just came home from France via CDG, and while it can be confusing, there are "i" signs for information clearly marked, and the people were most helpful, I thought.

Hey FOF - I'd love to email you but your profile doesn't have your address. You replied in another post that your husband is from Somerset, which is where I'm from. My email is travelingmcmahans at gmail.com Drop me a line! Smile
And btw, not to scare you, but an hour could be cutting it awfully close at CDG. Is it possible for you to take a later flight?

If you are on a non-Air France airline, you will most likely be taking a "bus" from the plane tio the terminal. This can often take 15-20 minutes.
Another concern is baggage. Never,if at all possible, check bags when going to CDG. If you do, don't forget to pray. Angel
