I haven't been able to go to Sicily yet and called Pascale at Verdetecnica to ask if I could use the prize next year. She said yes no problem. What nice people. I really look forward to going.

My Slowtrav prize was a cooking class for 2 and half price on accommodations at the idyllic and picturesque Poggio Etrusco

My sister and I arrived on Oct. 28 and stayed for 5 wonderful days. Pamela Sheldon Johns is a delight and loads of fun!! Gelato
Our cooking class was on Wed. which is Chianciano's market day. We strolled around for about an hour and then headed back to begin our day of chopping, dicing, eating, drinking, talking and laughing! There were 6 of us in the class. 2 fun couples from Virginia joined us.

Chicken liver pate and ribollita, also batter for deep frying all sorts of vegetables and fruits were just a few of the delicious recipes we were taught. Thumbs Up The time flew by we were having so much fun. Pig We then sat down to a table set with those fun Buon Ricordo plates.

After our meal we hopped into Pamela's van and drove to La Macina, a nearby antique frantoio (olive pressing mill). We learned all about the process of turning olives into olive oil. Thumbs Up

I am so grateful to everyone at Slowtrav.com for the opportunity to have had this experience. Not Worthy Thank you all so much, especially to Pamela for offering this fabulous prize. I feel honored to have won it. Thank you again to everyone involved.

I will write up a separate review of Poggio Etrusco and Pamela's cooking class. It will definitely get a Thumbs Up Thumbs Up "Highly recommend"!!

HERE is a link to pictures from our stay at Poggio Etrusco.

Ciao, meow,

Hi all,

I have been been remiss in posting on this forum.

Here is my report of our time in Rome - 1 week courtesy of Romepower and Pauline.

By far the best part was the opportunity to offer our two sons a trip to Italy. I am positive neither we nor they will ever forget our experiences.

Hey, being a Dad is great sometimes!
