Here are the guidelines: You select one of your own photos to post that in some way utilizes the topic. Use the topic as a concrete prompt, or find a novel approach. Each person, just one post/photo per thread topic, (or two if you must)please. Photos should be resized to be no wider than 600 pixels. Too-large photos slow down the loading of the thread, and will be deleted. Read about how to post a photo in a thread, here. If you have an idea for a photo hunt topic, contact one of the Mods to offer the suggestion instead of beginning another thread.
Posting photos in the thread gives your permission for SlowTrav to eventually move the photos over to Photohunt albums in the Slow Photos Galleries.
This week's prompt is "pink."
You're encouraged to describe your photo--where you shot it, details of what you were doing or what was going on, etc.
We were strolling through the market in Aix when I saw what I first thought was a group of small children behind one stand--but then I realized it was a very creative way for the vendor to display her wares, including one pink outfit!

I have a fair amount of "pink" scenes to choose from, especially the beautiful facades of buildings in Lerici and Palma. But nothing appealed to me as much as this group of Slow Travelers having dinner in an Italian restaurant in the North End (our Italian section in Boston) with a lovely pink wall as a backdrop. Don't they look like they are enjoying themselves? Pictured are: my husband Jim, Brenda and Jeremy who are now on sabbitical in London, Mindy and moderator Amy and her husband Larry.
A Stargazer lily in Savannah in Forsyth Park's Fragrant Garden...my very favorite lily of all.
The scent in the air while walking around the edges of the Fragrant Garden is almost overwhelming in the evening, when these, and all of the other, deeply fragrant flowers are doing their best to make you aware of their presence!

My photo was taken last spring at the Hancock Cemetery, Quincy, MA. Dating from around 1640, it is among the earliest and most historic burial grounds in New England.
I was going to post pink flowers too, but I'll take a different approach with this old pink building in Provence. It's on the main square of Oppède-le-Vieux, one of my favorite villages.

P.S. Stargazer lillies were one of the main flowers in our wedding. I love them!

I took this in December a few years ago at sunset in Concord, MA. It is the Concord School of Philosophy, one of the country's first adult education schools, started by Bronson Alcott, father of Louisa May. I was inside the Alcott museum when I looked out the window, realized the whole sky was glowing pink, lighting up the snow, and ran outside with my camera to capture the moment.
I bought a beach towel in Turkey;(It matched my swimsuit colour....no, I don't have a Betty Boop swimsuit!!! ) I gave it to my friend Betty when I got home, as she collects B.B. stuff.
Initially I thought"PINK? I won't have anything", but then I started browsing...I didn't realise there were so many different shades of pink, in all sorts of different photo's! Eventually decided to share this view of carpets displayed on an amazing pink wall in Marrakech.

Here is a bougainvillea vine in Athens (taken before I had a digital camera) which could only be called Big Pink!
Roz, I remember the day your pink photo was taken - I was in Lexington, MA and couldn't believe what I saw out the window either. Somewhere I have photos, too, but I suspect most people on seeing them would just assume the color was off or maybe intensified. Not!
I must say I love these threads. All the photos are wonderful but Roz that sunset must have been unreal to experience in person. I don't think you can beat the beauty of nature, simply breath-taking as captured in girasoli's rose. What magnificence. Thank you all once again for sharing these great photos. Barb Cabot
Here is my contribution. I took the photo to email to my niece, who is 20 something. She commutes year 'round by bicycle in ANCHORAGE, ALASKA(!!) and I thought she would get a kick out of the poster.
These pink pictures are fabulous. Jan how beautiful your children are! I can't resist posting this photo od flower girls at one of three weddings we observed on the same day in Puglia. They were absolutely "pretty in pink".
A booth at Maison et Objet 2008. Such a soft palette of color!

In September we visited the Château de Chantilly where they had grown huge swathes of Cosmos. The vistas were like impressionist paintings - many shades of pink. Here is just one - almost every flower had a visiting bee but they were not very good at staying still for the shot..

This photo was taken in Santorini three weeks ago. We had a nice sunset dinner in Firostefani and were walking to our apartment in Imerovigli when we stopped to take a photo. He captured my state of zen quite easily.
