I'm being lazy here, I know. I really don't want to have to jump back and forth in more than one forum. But, I don't want to bury my inquiries in a forum that the people who know something about the region might not look at.

We've tentatively decided on our trip for summer 2009.

Fly into Helsinki, Finland - five nights
Overnight train to St. Petersburg, Russia - seven nights
Overnight train to Tallinn, Estonia - seven nights
Rural stay in Estonian countryside (location to be determined) - five nights
Ferry from Estonia to Helsinki - one night
Fly home for a total of 28 nights.

I want to start posting and asking questions - hopefully in only one forum.

It looks like Russia is about 50/50 between "Rest of Europe" and "Rest of World". Finland is in the "Rest of Europe".

Should I stick to Rest of Europe and hope that Russia lovers will understand?

Deborah -
You choose! Pick a forum, and I'll create a shortcut link to your thread in the other forum.

Colleen, What's the chance of getting a "Former USSR" forum? Or maybe "The Baltics"? Dorky Traveler
I'll pick Rest of Europe since that is where Finland seems to find itself, and the biggest part of our trip will be Estonia.

What do YOU think the chance is? Wink Grin

I created a shortcut so your post appears in both forums. Your (current Wink) itinerary looks great ... Good planning to travel during festival time!

Colleen...

Actually ..I like the idea of breaking up the Rest of Europe section more..

granted I'm a new on the boards and don't know the history of why decisions are made...but
what if it was...

The Baltic including St. Petersburg

Greece, Turkey

Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro

Then Czech, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland

Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine,

Most people stay within the same region when they are doing the Rest of Europe..so I think it would be helpful..

Just a thought, not a complaint or critiscm

We break up forums as we get more traffic and or content for a specific areas. At the moment, we do not receive enough of either to justify their own forums, though of course, some day we would love to have enough of both.
