I had posted on here, that I was taking my Crocs to Italy. At home, I wear ,the red, bright yellow, light blue. For my trip, I bought the professonal stlye,in beige and black. They were perfect. I never had a blister, I never slipped, or twisted an ankle. And they are VERY comfortable. My feet have a tendency to swell in the heat, and these allow for that. Only $30. can't go wrong. You can wash them up in the sink, when they get dusty. I wear them without socks., I did take a dressy sandle for evening.

I was able to buy Geox with Bling today. They have rhinestones on the silver. I love them!!! Bought them in a kind of siena colour (fitting eh?) and half price to boot
I love this thread. Of course we should be comfortable, walk for miles and miles, and look gggggreat ! For all of you headed to Paris, I get my shoes from Repetto, a company that specializes in dancewear and toe shoes but now also has a line of street shoes that are very comfortable, enough for the dancer clientele. -- o no, I sound like a catalogue. I swear I do not work for Repetto (but with all the money I spend there I should be a shareholder). Repetto makes a lot of pumps (called "ballerines") that are the rage this year. Its main shop is on rue de la Paix, half way between the Opéra Garnier and the Ritz-Armani vortex (metro Opéra). You can get cheaper late-season models in its outlet a little further away on rue Chateaudun near the metro/church Notre Dame de Lorette. It seems no man is on this thread. Don't they want to walk and chew gum and look great at the same time? Best, N

I like these and I have a narrow foot. What brand are they? I was looking at the Mephistos walking shoes too.

I am going thru this thread clicking on all the links looking for shoes. These sandals look nice and Clarks have always worked well for me. Thanks!!
Pauline, they are Naots. the footbed is heaven to my PF feet. I am just back today from a very fast trip to the bay area and went into a shoe store and tried on a sandal called Finn comfort shoes. very similar to Naot footbed and they had a shoe similar, http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/12276569/c/9800.html
had a few minutes to slip them on. I may order both a them from Zappos and give it a try. My trip is coming up too fast and I sitll have not found that shoe that will get me through my trip this is my Naot sandal that is wonderful
Those Finns look good Laurie, but I wonder if it might be too much of a heel for me. I like a really flat shoe.
These days I am wearing Donald J Pliner Uozo - from two years ago. I got them at that huge mall in Minneapolis, at the Nordstrom. They are comfy, but maybe not for walking miles, but I love the way they look. But they won't do for summer shoes. And the heel looks similar to the Finn one - so maybe those would be good for me.
{ fixing URL - bad Pauline!! }

While I was waiting for my flight from Venice to Toronto last fall, I was wandering around the airport with a large gelato from one of the foodie booths...I saw a huge sign over a doorway advertising 'Stonefly' shoes...I've never seen them or heard of them before, but they look very comfortable, and not at all u-g-l-y! Here they are on Zappo's site. Has anyone heard of them? Worn them?
"These are my new shoes. They're good shoes. They won't make you rich like me, they won't make you rebound like me, they definitely won't make you handsome like me. They'll only make you have shoes like me. That's it." ~ Charles Barkley Brenda
Pauline, I heart your Cole Haan! I want them in black!!!
Zappo's customer service stands above the rest. I bought a pair from them and the sole was slightly scratched. Maybe I'm a bit fussy about shoes but that really irritated me so I wrote to them to complain. I also needed half a size smaller, it turned out. So rather than waiting for me to send back the shoes, they shipped the replacement that day without further charging my credit card. Most internet companies would have charged me for two orders, waited for the original shoes to arrive before issuing a refund, and charge me for shipping the second pair.
I search every year for the most comfortable walking shoes for my trips to Europe. All those cobblestones are murder on my feet and ankles. I used to buy Ecco sandles (I also like Mephisto, but way too expensive for me), but last year I found these at Rack Room Shoes for $39.99, and I wore them for 17 days with no foot pain. They are so cushy that they provide a lot of shock absorption, the rubber soles are tough, and the upper part actually provides some cushioning between the shoe and the top of my foot, so I never got any blisters. And not too hideous
I tried on some StoneFly shoes in Santa Fe a year ago, but the service in the shoe store was so bad that I left without buying them. And avoided the store for the next year. Finally went back last month and the service is back to being good.
I really liked them but had forgotten that brand name. Thanks for the reminder Brenda!!
I have never heard of Stonefly until yesterday. They also had them at the store that had the Finns. I am glad you pointed out Zappos has them too. I love Zappos because of their free shipping and returns and they are offering free overnight right now. I am afraid to buy from a store thats so far away from me because I need to wear them a short while get the feel.
Speaking of Clarks, has anyone tried the sandals that have 3 straps??? (think they are called Sunbeat)
I bought of pair of Sunbeats for my last trip to Italy , in Sept '05. Generally, I thought they were pretty comfortable, but I didn't really like the adjustability of the buckle-type straps. I couldn't quite get them to fit right - they were either a little too loose in spots or a little too tight. I think velcro straps work better in that regard.

I just bought a pair of Teva shoes called Ancona that have waterproof uppers. I started wearing them today and they are pretty comfy. May pick up a pair of dansko's too for an upcoming Paris trip. My Wolky sandals with 3 adjustable velcros are my favorite for warm weather.
Ooooooh, LOVE the look of the NAOT and RACK ROOM sandals!!! Do they fit fairly true to size? I have a narrow foot. Can see they only come in M's but then most sandals do. They both look very comfortable. I also have flat feet. Need a really cushy shoe with an arch. Thanks, all. Laroma

Laroma, I found the Rack Room sandals (brand is Bjorndal) fit true to size for me. I almost always were a size 6, and the size 6 of these shoes fit me just fine. I thought I'd mention that I have flat feet, too, and they worked well for me. But with shoes, you can never tell until you put them on.

Laroma, I LOVED my NAOT sandals...They are perfect for flat feet. My feet are definitely "M"s, though, and I don't remember them fitting snugly...can you go somewhere to try them on, and then order? Another thing, many of the NAOTs come with a removeable footbed and you can replace it, instead of replacing the whole shoe! Mine lasted for a few years. Laura
