In September I am traveling from Los angeles to Naples, Florence, Venice, and Istanbul. I will start from Naples and end up in Istanbul then return to Los Angeles. What is the best way to buy tickets, I am realy lost!!!
I would consider using a travel consultant (if you click on the underlined text you will find those who are affiliated with our web site) or an experienced travel agent.
The easiest way would be to call a travel agent, but if I were planning such a trip I'd start with an open jaw ticket--LA-Naples, Istanbul-LA--for the long distances, with trains between Italian cities and a separate flight from Venice to Istanbul, though there may not be a nonstop for that route (connect through Milan or Rome or Switzerland).
Then try multi-city air pricing, the Venice-Istanbul segment ticketed with the transatlantic trips.
Or if you can change the order within Italy, fly Naples-Venice, train to Florence, then train to Rome for a flight to Istanbul
I'm sure others with more experience will have additional ideas. This is a challengng itinerary to plan, but I'm sure you'll find an answer. Good luck.
