The International Herald Tribune reports: The European Union justice and security minister said Friday that controls sought on non-EU visitors, part of fighting terrorism, would include collection of biometrics, as well as fingerprints, and that a fingerprint registry would help the authorities in the 27-country bloc to identify people who had exceeded the time allowed for their stays.
Also planned is an online registration process, during which visitors would provide information before they came. The steps would require approval of all EU members.
