Quick question on luggage weight limits in Europe.
Our return flight from Rome includes a 24 hr stopover in Dublin (due to the ease of using frequent flier miles these days. I plan to attempt to check my luggage all the way through from Rome to USA and just take my carry-on into Dublin. Does anyone know if I can do this or not? Or will my luggage be subject to the Europe weight limits (not international)? Does anyone know what those weight limits are (Aer Lingus)?
BTW - We found some great info on this site for our 24 hrs in Dublin. THANKS!
If it is a single ticket flight, the long-haul flight determines the luggage requirement. However, with a 24 hour lay-over you may need to contact the airline to see how they are handling the luggage. We did this once and because we had pre-arranged it with the airlines, they kept it in hold somewhere.
i did this once and they not check through but every airline is different. also they told me the weight limit was lower since it was domestic to the other EU country... a real pain as it cost some, since i was counting on international wt limits... ask first, hopefully the airpine will accomodate. thing are different now since 911

Call your airline.
They will be able to give you all the specifics, and will absolutely be the most reliable source of info for you.
