I just got the confirmation that I have the airline tickets for Spain Feb 2009! I am posting in this section rather than the Spain/Portugal to see if others have had the same frustrating experience.
For the last month I was trying to get a certain listed flight/price on Orbitz. Everytime I clicked on it, the message said that the flight price had been adjusted to...double the amount - but it was listed, with the low price, everytime I logged in. Yesterday, I was ready, with credit card in hand to finally purchase another choice, higher priced (by $100) and not as good of a schedule. I minimized and made a last quick check with the airline itself. And there was that flight, at the lower price so i grabbed it. I even waited until today to get my email confirmation to see if it really was true before posting here.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Kath,
I have been searching for tickets for 9 people with 3 different itineraries. They are for my wife and I an our children and families. We are paying for them so I have done tons of research using Kayak, airlines, Orbitz, and Travelzoo. here is what I have noticed with Kayak and Orbitz. They are listing a Swiss air flight out of Rome to Dulles Int'l(6-30-09) that is rejected by Orbitz "not available" when you go to buy them. It has been like that for a month. The thing that really surprised me is for a Dulles Int't to Milan and Rome to Dulles open-jaw(6/19-6/30/09) Kayak and Orbitz list the tickets on Continental for $100 more than Continental Airlines will sell them for.

It does pay to check often. Two weeks ago I found tickets for my wife and I (RT IAD-FCO and non-stop going over)on United(thru Orbitz) for $853 each next June and for one son and wife out of Cle connecting with our plane at Dulles also for $853 each. The sale actually ended while I was entering the data for the other family of 5 who are coming over later.

Regards,

Foot Notes
