In 2003 my husband and I moved to Louisiana for 6 months before we took off traveling full time around the US.
While there, I encouraged him to try new jobs he would really enjoy, and take a break from the medical field. At one point he considered tagging alligators for the state of Louisiana. Talk about high risk and low pay!

And NO experience necessary!
While I supported him working for Academy Sports, selling everything from guns to rods and reels, and also desk clerk at a major hotel chain, I absolutely forbid him to tag alligators!
On a day trip to Lake Fausse State Park, many alligators were sunning themselves on logs, and believe me, they were camouflaged on those logs. They were hard to recognize. I can't imagine my husband out there in the swamps and bayous trying to tag an alligator (and without a cage like in your picture!) I knew they would get him first, because he wouldn't see them right next to him.
