I am planning a trip in mid to late October. These two areas are top of my list. If you have been to either during this timeframe, what was the weather like? My first choice is Prague and area, but I'm curious about the weather. Statistics say averages are highs of mid 50's lows high 30's. Do you agree with this?
You really cannot compare the two areas weather-wise in mid-late October. Spain is Southern Europe and consequently enjoys temperatures an average of 20 degress higher than those you have quoted for Prague at that time of year, especially as you go even further South to Andalucia where the climate is even balmier. Spain is a big country and you did not say where you were interested there, but last year we went from French border to Barcelona and onto Andalucia at that time.
It was hot, hot, hot as soon as we crossed the border and stayed mostly sunny and warm all winter in our part of Andalucia.
We were wearing T-shirts at xmas and we were swimming in late October in out door pools.
It seems it could be nice in Prague then if you are lucky, but it could also be cold and rainy.
Weather is always fickle, but if sun and good weather is important to you, I would head to southern Spain as your odds are best there and Andalucia is spectacular then.
It would be southern Spain - but I really would rather go to Prague, Vienna, Budapest, etc. If you've been there in mid to late October, please tell what the weather is like. Sunny and sweater weather during the day is perfect to me. I know there's no guarantees, but it's typically cold, grey and rainy, I'll just have to plan this trip at a different time. Thanks.
Hi, The Weather is really hard to predict, but the many times I was in Budapest in transit in September/October timeframe it was extremely cold and windy. So bring a good coat if you get there. That city has a particular location according to local people and and can be much cooler than more Northern places.
Costa del Sol has a good weather usually, but can have some rain as well. Still not as cold. However I would not expect swimming in the sea end of October could be too cold for that.
