One flight we are considering has a return from Rome to Seattle on SAS that stops in Copenhagen. We have one hour to make the connection on United. I read that one hour is tight when you are connecting with the same airline. Are the United gates close to SAS? Does this sound like a problem or is it standard?

Perhaps my question was poorly worded. I do that sometimes. The SAS flight goes from FCO (Roma) to Copenhagen. We then switch to a United flight that goes to Seattle. There is a one hour layover. Is this enough time to make the connection?

Presumably it's legal, but I don't know if any regulars here have experience with that airport. It might be something to ask at http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/index.php , probably on the SAS forum.

Copenhagen is not such a big airport so if your flight is on time, I think it should work. But I'm not sure the gates are close to eachother. You will probably land in a Schengen area of the airport and I think you have to go through security to get to the non-Schengen part of the airport. Hope that everything will work out :-)

I posted the question over on flyertalk and several people responded that the Copenhagen airport is very well run and that it would not be a problem.

Like Gard says you'll land in the Schengen part of the airport and leave from the non-Schengen part, where there'll be passport control.

Walking leisurely from point A to B should take max 20 minutes (probably less), and then there might be some waiting in line for the passport control. However if your plane from Rome is on time, you should have no problems at all. I have made it to/from terminal 1 (the domestic part and a distance of 900 metres) with less time to spare.

However one hour doesn't allow much time for delays.
