Has anyone had any experience with the Clark's Privo brand? We bought smaller suitcases and I'm trying to decide which shoes to take. I definitely need my sneakers and SAS sandals. Now I have to decide between my Merrill clogs and the new Privos I just bought. They don't seem to have the padding that the rest have.

Hi - there is a long thread on this page that talks about Privos - and if you use the find button at the top of this page and search for Privo you will get the specific comments about that shoe.
I did try on a couple of pairs of Privo before a spring trip to Europe but felt they didn't have enough support for me, so opted not to buy them.

I LOVE my Privos. Wore them all around Italy. Wear them quite a bit at home. The only thing is that if I don't wear them with socks they give me blisters.

The right one felt great, but the left bothered (just)my little toe. I was told to buy the smaller size if I was between sizes--but they didn't have enough room with socks. If I bought the larger size, I don't think they would be comfortable without socks. I guess they aren't for me--but I did think they were cute and similiar to some of the shoes I noticed in Italy.

I took two pair of Privo's to Italy last May/June and wore them for over two weeks. One pair were lace ups which gave me more support and also a slip on pair. I have a fallen arch and pulled ligament in that arch on my right foot and usually wear an ugly pair of black New Balance walking shoes with orthopedics' inside at home. I simply refused to take them to Itay, so wore the Privo's as well as one pair of cute Clark suede lace up walking shoes and did just fine. I didn't have any problems at all. I felt the Privo's were great, but my favorites are the Clark's. All three are very light weight.

I bought these little lovelies! They are so-so-so comfortable. I bought them to wear with no socks, because the insole has great foot-massage foamy lumps and they feel fantastic! The sales person told me to buy this pair to fit snugly, because they stretch out a little, and indeed they do! I can wear them all day, shopping or walking, and they feel great. I love the little velcro strap, also, 'cause I can tighten it if I need a closer fit. I put them on without undoing the straps, just like slippers. These shoes make me feel like I'm 5 years old and my mom is hollering, "For heaven's sake! Untie your shoes before you put them on! You are going to ruin them completely!"

I am so happy I stumbled across these. I went to the Clarks store for something different and came out with both... they are wonderful shoes, I wore them daily both with and without socks (depending on cuff length) and nary a blister in sight. My Mom bought them the minute she got home - she wished she had them on the trip. Mine are actual shoes - they look great with jeans. They could be used for light hiking I think.
I brought my Privos on our 3 week trip to Paris and Italy and alternated them with my timberland sandals (sandals when it was nice, Privos when it wasn't so nice). They were very comfortable. I have very high arches and found they had the support I needed. I still wear them whenever I have lots of walking to do and they will come back to Paris in May.
I bought the Joyner style - so ugly you have to love them.
I'm not going to bring them to France/Italy as they are a little heavy, but very comfortable.
My only word of advice is to buy on the smaller size. I got talked into getting a little larger and I keep tripping over the little extra material at my toes.
Or could it be the vodka??
Nah - it's the shoes - that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
