The delivery service is good and phones arrived on time. However the company overcharged me by about $80.00 and the phones did not work part of the time. I have spent a couple of hours trying to get my full credit back. Next time, I'll just get a rental right there. It's a little more time, but heck for the extra half hour doing all of that, I'd still save all the time on the phone I've spent here!
I have explicit notes of what the charges would be and they really overcharged me even though I did everything right. I'm still very upset. All was sent PRISTINE and on time. I'm very frustrated and I think they are simply dishonest or pull a bait and switch thing. I wouldn't rent from them again. I got no help from the Accounts department talking to a slew of people! I spoke with Preston, Eric, Paul, Cynthia, Ashley the head of the Cellular Abroad accounting promised it'd be fixed and then refused my calls. Even her supervisor Wendy was not helpful. Basically, Cellular Abroad cheated me.
Most people here suggest buying instead of renting a cell phone when you travel. That way you are less likely to incur questionable rental charges, and it isn't hard to find reasonably priced phones either online or in a store in the country where you are going.
If you check our Technology on the Go forum, you will find several discussions on this topic, as well as links to articles on Slow Travel about using cell phones in other countries.
