I bought a Heys suitcase at Costco a year or so ago, and I really love it. It is a 26", which is lighter than my previous 22", and has spinner wheels that are so easy to pull. Costco now has a really great deal on a Heys set, only through the end of September -- $130 delivered, for a 26", a 20", plus a laptop bag and a Travelmate crossover shoulder bag. I wish they had had this deal when I bought mine.
You can see it here. If anyone is looking for lighter luggage in these days of airline crackdowns, I would definitely recommend it.
Thanks Roz for this tip. I'm anxious to go to Costco and see the luggage in person. I hope I can view it in the store before ordering. I've been looking for some lightweight luggage and glad to have a recommendation from someone that actually has it.
Will try to get to Costco before the end of the week.

Thanks for the head's up - I'm looking for some luggage after a permanent zipper malfunction returning from our trip in June. Unfortunately the Heys set is not available at Costco in Canada.
Nancy I'll be anxious to hear your thoughts on the set when you receive it. I went to Costco yesterday and the Heys set was not at the store. I'm glad to know the sale date has been extended through Oct. so I've got a bit more time. Let me know how you like it. Thanks again. Barb Cabot

The Heys sale set has arrived, and they look really nice. The wheels are what they call "spinners", and they look like they will be great because they go in all directions, not inline like most luggage wheels are.
I got the navy, but I am even tempted to order the silver too while the sale is on so Bill and I can each have a set for our trip to Italy next year.
The price is great, and it even includes shipping. I have priced the sets on eBay, and they are almost double this price.
You really have nothing to lose since you can return the set to any Costco if you don't like it.
Costco also has a three-piece set for $229 (shipping included), but the only color they have left is black. If they had orange, I would not hesitate to order.

Overstock.com has the 4 piece Heys but for $134.99. There is a set in mauve that I am ogling but don't think my spouse is the mauve type. I'd get silver for him and mauve for me, but eight pieces is a little too much.
Overstock has single pieces of Heys in some rather wild patterns.
We anticipate traveling in January and I just found a $789 air fare: Seattle to Paris to Rome and the return is Venice to Paris to Seattle. I'm booking.

Thank you for the tip on overstock.com. The orange pieces are even cheaper than what you can find on eBay.
I like the line they call 4WD because the wheels are the spinner type. I just looked at your mauve set, and it appears to be the exact set that Costco was selling, but they only had silver and navy.
If I were you, I would go for it for both of you! This is a really great price, and the two smaller pieces are just extra bonuses.
My goal is to find orange pieces, and I doubt that they would have the sets on sale in that color, so I will just get them separately.

I did order the mauve Heys set. We have a large red piece of luggage, made of similar lightweight material, and my husband says he'll use that. It's 30" and has been battered and broken in by the airlines on past trips, so it hopefully has one more jaunt in it.
Allowing myself to start getting a little excited about the next trip. My husband wants to start packing now.

You should be excited - January isn't that far off! Wow - your husband wants to start packing? I thought men were all last-minute packing types. I know Bill is - he waits until the night before to start washing the clothes he wants to take with him!
Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Thanks, Nancy. We've been planning to go on this trip for some time so when I saw the Air France fare - $1550 total for two of us - I checked with my boss to make doubly sure I can have the time off and bought our tickets.
I've emailed relatives and hotels and will get this trip arranged as much as we want to before we leave. I figure 6 nights each in Rome and Florence and the balance of the trip will be Milan and Venice with a possible stop in Verona, possibly a few days up in Como. The spouse really wants to go to Como but in January? I'm not so sure.
My husband - love him and all of his habits, but some puzzle me. At least a month, if not more, before any hunting trip, the front room of the house will be awash in his "stuff". I'm sure my habit of not starting to pack until the weekend before a trip equally puzzles him, but I figure if everything in the closet and bureau drawers is clean, then it's a slam dunk.

I wonder if anyone who bought these could comment on how they like them. I see that Costco is now offering this set even cheaper -- for $100 (although that doesn't include shipping). But when I looked at the reviews, there were quite a few that said the luggage had not held up well. I have had a different Heys suitcase for over a year, and while it does get a bit scuffed, it's gone to Europe and California a few times with no problems.
Roz, I used the smaller Heys piece for a trip from which I just returned. I carried it on for the outbound flight but checked it for the return trip last night. It seemed to do fine. It expanded to fit all of the items it carried. It wasn't abused by the luggage handlers between San Jose->Seattle->Bellingham, and most of our luggage has been destroyed on that route alone (TSA locks broken and mangled, zip tags that have disappeared). The zipper itself is a little hard to pull but that's okay.
I'd noticed that the price had been further reduced on Costco. I don't know if we'll ever use the pieces aside from the carryon and the 22" bag.
For our trip in January, since we can each take two bags weighing no more than 50# each, I'm contemplating a total of two large bags, one medium, and one carryon. I'm used to the days of one large bag weighing 70+# and one carryon, easier to move between cities, but need to allow for what we will be bringing home with us. I keep hearing the siren song of Quintarelli Valpolicella.
