I just found this by accident which looks really good compared to schleping a carseat ( my child is up to a grand ole 34 lbs so still needs a car seat even tho she is 5).Thought others might have used it or might be interested in using it.I have never heard of them.
I actually bought a backless booster ($25) for my 4 year old. It was kind of a pain to carry, but we packed light so it wasn't too bad and I tied it onto his wheeled backpack. I was actually looking for something more portable than a booster, but yours is a bit pricey for me but looks more convenient. I've never seen this kind before. There was a travel strap system in another catalog (Right Start or One Step Ahead) but my son was too big for it.
I had to laugh when I looked at the photo for this "booster vest." It looks like a really great idea, but I pity the poor child that has to put on a flak jacket every time he/she gets in the car!!!
It is strange looking!LOL. But the many rave reviews all say the kids love it and I can see my child loving it as she is still stuck in a baby car seat due to her weight.( One has to be 40 lbs to get into booster seats and that could take forever for her as even the 34 lbs is fully dressed with shoes on as she is a long & lean ectomorph ) She is always envious of her older and much bigger friends that do not have to do booster or car seat. So it will be freeing to both of us as it only weighs about 3oz which is soooo much better than those heavy, bulky car seats.
I just ordered it ,so we will see how it works!I am thrilled that I stumbled upon it as it looks like a perfect solution for us.
