I'd be interested in hearing anyone's experience with this airline...haven't found anything on Slow Travel's search engine. I'm considering flying with them to Italy this year. Thanks, Joe
Thanks Bill - I was aware of the site you linked me to (plus others), I'd just prefer to "hear" someone's comments from Slow Travel... As always, reviews from Internet sites can be mixed and sometimes confusing. Joe
I have no personal experience with them, however, I did work with two people who used to use Tarom to go home frequently. They had only good things to say about the airline and its workings.
they cancelled a lot of domestic flights in january 2008 due to "extraordinary circumstances". They are not willing to compensate you. I paid a high price for a 45 minutes flight that was cancelled the day of departure and alternativelly, I was transported by bus, 6 hours, in mediocre conditions for the same price. Poor communication with the company's employees, poor service!
I had always a great experience with Tarom. They have been accepted into SkyTeam and they have registered the biggest growth so far, at least in Europe. They fly state of the art aircrafts and their fleets are new.
They have cancelled those flight because of the NATO Summit in Bucharest, circumstances beyond their control. Both airports in Bucharest were shut down by the government at the last minute to receive VIP (such as president Bush) and a lot of other countries.
I would recommend Tarom to anyone. They are great, and the meals are good as well, even on short international flights you get a full meal not only peanuts.

Tarom being accepted in SkyTeam is one of the biggest mysteries of this millennium... Indeed, they registered the biggest growth in Europe so far, because there are a lot of Romanians working overseas which use this company. The majority of them are, however, not a quality aware type of public. Since recently, they were loyal to Romanian’s bus companies which took more than 24 hours to transport them at their working place in Western Europe. Lured by price adjustments, that public massively switched to Tarom. For them quality of service is not a big issue. That's how I explain Tarom's revenues growth.
