I wanted to post this due to conflicting information all over the web about using a Bank of America ATM card in Europe, thought it may be helpful to others.

I just finished a 22 day road trip in Europe (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic). I used my BoA checking ATM card in Netherlands at ABN Ambro at the Schipol airport..the fees were $5.00 and 1% of the amount. I was charged the exact $5 + 1% fees when I used a Raffeisbank ATM in Prague.

I also used the ATM card at Deustche Bank in Munich and was charge NO fees at all. This confirms BoA's claim that using a Deutsche Bank ATM in the home country (Germany) will not result in fees.

Also, all the Banks that I used in Europe did not charge fees for using their ATMs, I think this is a standard in Europe.

I think for a major bank, the fees charged by BoA is a fair deal.
