Just checked flights from SC to Toulouse France and there is a min of a 5 hour layover! I am searching multiple airlines. I don't remember this being a problem the last few trips to Europe. Is it because the airlines are cutting back?
To some extent, although going to Europe I prefer longer layovers. With the Delta-Northwest merger, some routes are being cut. I'm aware recently of the Minneapolis-Paris route being cut sooner than previously planned.
Not only less flights but also more expensive. Our Air Canada/Lufthansa flights Toronto-Frankfurt-Bucharest and return are $200-300 more expensive than the price we paid a few months ago and special fares for Frankfurt don't even exist anymore.
That's not good news since we already have to fly from a secondary airport to a major hub like Atlanta then Paris and then Toulouse. And from Toulouse we have about 1 1/2 hrs drive. Makes me want to rethink and maybe go to an easier destination than the Dordogne.
