We're here in the states for a few weeks, and I dec ided to take a chance and renew ARt's passport while we're here. It doesn't expire until January, but with the house for sale and our travel plans unknown at this time, I decided to play it safe by renewing early.

We went to to the Post Office on our first weekday here and mailed everything off, fingers crossed. We had almost 4 weeks for the new passport to arrive, so we were hopeful. Amazingly, the new passport arrived just 10 days later, and the expired one came back in the mail a day after that! Obviously something has changed at the passport agency!

I think that they have caught up with the backlog from last summer's rule changes. My son renewed his passport sometime in the last few months, and it was the same thing, maybe 3 weeks to get it back.

Congrats, hope you had a good time Stateside.

Yay, Barb! I'm glad ours didn't expire until this year...our wait was less than a month. It's good to hear it's even faster now.
