I just flew American last week to and from Paris. Going I was in a normal coach seat, and it was a bit on the cramped side but I took a sleeping pill so it was tolerable for the 2 hours I was awake (an hour on either end). For the return, I was with my husband (he's some super ff guy), so we got the exit row seats. Those were fantastic - plenty of room. Oh and while the seating seemed a bit more cramped than Continental, I'd say it was on par with Delta (at least the Florida routes), and not worth a ton of extra money to switch. Oh and all the employees I dealt with were nice, and professional.

I would be flying coach and I remember hearing that American Airlines is the worst, especially for an international flight- very crowded, no leg room. Does anyone have experience with this? I haven't flown them to anywhere in years so I have no clue. I'm not too tall or too picky but I don't want to be uncomfortable. Do you think it's worth spending additional money to go with a different airlines? Thanks!
Totally disagree, I think American is the most comfortable airline I have flown on internationally. Now I am not sure which plane I think it was a 777? Newish with the tv's int he backs of the seats. More leg room than British and definately more than NW or US Air.

Yes, I've heard the 777s are fabulous. We were on the 767. Another nice thing to note about American, they have power sources between the seats, so if you're traveling with a laptop (or dvd player), you can plug it in and have access for the entire ride (except takeoff and landing). We used ours to watch movies we wanted rather than the ones they were showing. I was actually pleasantly surprised with my AA experience from start to finish.
