Great article & certainly timely for me! ( We are about to take off on a slow world tour with a 5yo for those who don't know).I melted when I saw the pictures of Kelly as a younger child ( heck I melt when I see the pics of her now!) because she reminded me of my own ( who is a blondie too) and it helped me visualize her there.Great tips.
I think there is a great need for this kind of article ( and even books on this topic as they are rare ...& I probably own them all).I did not comment on the blog thread, since I don't really know the answers ( love your blog!) ,but I know that Jennifer Nichols who wrote a great book called "Exotic Travel Destinations for Families" also wrote many articles about traveling with children for magazines and newspapers through chronicling thier journeys.
With so many babyboomers who had child/ren late and also nearing retirement and with work being feasable from anywhere on the planet via laptop,my thought is that there will be even more families interested in this option.Everybody we talk to seem to be interested ,so seems like there must be a good market out there if you are interested Kathy.
My sense is that there is a real need for this kind of information.I know my horizons really broadened and my mind opened to possibilities as I read about others.I am grateful for the inspiration & any and all BTDT advice and I am sure I can not be the only one.
We'd expect no less on a slow travel site, but I'm glad you emphasized the importance of slowing down with kids. I suspect somewhere over 50% of problems that arise when traveling with kids relate to trying to rush them.
