Can someone please tell me how this works. I see on a lot of rental sites, (This is in Italy)

ie: 7 nights 1000 euro, but then it says minium stay is 5 days.

My perception is the minimum is 4 nights/5 days Its strange they dont say that

THere was a recent thread on the Italy site on someone losing their booking I think due to this confusion

If I do contact the places that say this I will make sure to get the clarification, but was just wanting to hear inputs of the seasoned travelers here

Hola.

Im not sure I understand this equation either...Heres how we work it out..

We have an amount per person per 7 nights...
We work out the daily price by dividing that amount by seven...

We assume that to get the 1000 deal you have to stay a minimum of five nights up to seven?

I would read this to be that a one week stay is $1,000. Usually they have specific arrival times, say after 3:00 and departure before 10:00 AM. A stay of 5-6 nights would be considered, at a rate to be negotiated. I would expect to pay more per night for a shorter stay.

I think if I saw something that said "7 nights 1,000 euro", and somewhere else on the website said something like "minimum stay is 5 days" - I would still think they meant that the minimum was 5 nights. Though I would clarify with them before booking.

Usually (but not always) if they do rent by the night as well as the week, they will list the per night rate, which is (again, usually but not always) higher than the weekly rate. If it's not listed on the website, ask before assuming that it will be the weekly rate divided by 7.

Also, when booking, it's a good idea to give the date you will arrive, the date you will depart and the number of nights that you be there. That usually eliminates the potential confusion.
