Sometimes there are things that take precedence over travel....like a daughter's wedding.

When I first saw this thread title, I was thinking, "What?" But, alas, a good alternative! Beautiful bride.

What a lovely couple, thanks for sharing, proud dad. Totally reasonable alternative to travel.

The rest of the story is that they are on their honeymoon in Croatia and Hungary now.

Their honeymoon trip is a true adventure. So, your daughter is much like her dad!

I hope they have a wonderful time, and just maybe, they will give us a trip report?? Dorky Traveler

Bill, what a lovely photo. Your daughter looks utterly resplendent and you look so handsome and proud!

Where did the wedding take place? The background reminds me of Central Park in NYC.

Thanks, everyone, for your kind remarks.

Teachick, the wedding took place in Austin, where they both went to school and will live. They actually both went to Lufkin High School but he is a couple of years older and they didn't know each other until she was in graduate school at the University of Texas.

So I guess I did travel some...to Austin, which is about a 4 hour drive from here. We aslo spent some time in the Texas hill country in Fredericksburg after the wedding. The Nimitz Museum of the War in the Pacific is very interesting. Admiral Nimitz was from Fredericksburg. Quite a number of wineries in the area also.

They're right, your smile in that photo shows how much you treasure your daughter. No amount of travel can ever replace that. Smile

Congratulations!!
I understand completely--just got off the phone with my son who is planning a wedding.
I have to show this picture to my future daughter-in-law--what a beautiful dress--on such a beautiful bride. Dad looks pretty good too.

Congratulations! A truly beautiful bride and obviously proud Dad. I understand perfectly. My daughter is getting married in November and, although I am watching my travel fund dwindle, I wouldn't change a thing.
