For those travelers who plan on arriving to Savannah before April 4, the Gathering Steering Committee (Sheena, Kathy, Leslie Erickson, Jan, Palma, and Terry) would like to invite y'all to an informal cocktail hour at our place on Jones Street on Washington Square, Thursday, April 3, early evening. Maybe we can talk about where to go for dinner after in this thread also..

You are all cordially invited Martini

Wonderful! We will be there--a great way to start things off. Don't have our plane reservations yet but I suspect we will get there in plenty of time.

Thanks, Terry,
I'd love to stop by! I'm so looking forward to meeting all of you in person. Joanna's Dancing Man
Maybe we can all have dinner at The Mansion...chiaro has already made reservations for a few of us at 8:00 P.M.

Terry,

Doyle and I will be in Savannah by then, although I'm not sure what we'll be doing during the few days prior to the GTG. We may want to attend one or more of the music festival events.

So -- I can't say anything definitely at this time, but if we're not on one of the Sea Islands or attending a concert, we'd be glad to come by.

Fred & I plan to fly in a day early, so put us in the "definitely interested" category. Don't have flights yet, so don't know just how early we arrive but with jet lag in our favor for once, how can we resist?

It will be great to start meeting people a few at a time.

Thanks for the invitation; we're hoping to be there by then and should be able to manage a stroll across the square.

Mac and I (Karen) will be arriving April 2, and will be staying at the President's Quarters. We look forward to attending the evening cocktail drop-by on Thursday, and getting to meet everyone there.

We love Savannah, having been there once, and we love Slowtrav! Can't wait to see everyone.

Hi Jen and Chris--it will be fun to meet someone from Columbia, MO. I'm a former Missourian (now a Texan since 1968), having graduated from MU in 1965. Karen

Hey there Nancy and John! We see that you are from Texas, too! Mac and I look forward to getting to know you! See you at the Pres. Q. By the way, we are considering going to "Jazz'd", Paula Deen's, or somewhere else Wed. evening. Haven't finished researching. Would enjoy having you join us. Got any ideas? Or, we will see you at the cocktail get-together Thursday evening. Karen

I think we're going to Paula Dean's for lunch on Friday with the group. However, we'd love to get together with any STs who are available Wed PM. Perhaps, when we check into our hotels, we should designate "ST" next to our names - I'm also attaching my ST luggage tag to my purse.

We posted a reply on Sept. 17, but somehow didn't get on the list, so please count Mac and Karen in, and will see everyone there.

Hi, Karen. So glad that you will be coming to Savannah, and joining us for an informal cocktail at "our place." I am looking forward to meeting you.

On behalf of the Gathering steering committee, I wanted to let you know that your deposit was received, and the master list is updated once a month. The next update will be October 4. Check it out - you should see your names there.

No Work At All, Sandi!

Our plan is to keep it very simple.

Our method is to keep Palma's hands tied behind her back the whole day!

Seriously--this is going to be very low key.

jan,

I'll second Sandi with an offer to help. Depends on what flight route we finally settle on. Plan A gets us to Savannah with time to grab a cocktail glass; Plan B (currently less $$) has us driving up from Jacksonville early on Thursday am, so with time to do whatever.

Do consider this a serious offer.

Marcia
