According to the
Countdown Clock it's now only 63 days until our Gathering in Savannah.
Final payments are now due and should be mailed as soon as possible. See
here for more information about where to send your check. Please contact Sheena or me if you have any questions. (And please help us out by taking care of this so we don't have to follow up individually with too many people!)
Read the posts on our
Gathering Forum and you'll see we have a very enthusiastic group of Slow Travelers headed to Savannah in April. We still welcome others to join us for this special weekend. We have set
February 15 as the final day we will accept registrations, and full payments would need to be mailed immediately. This cut-off date enables us to confirm our numbers with the caterers for our three events and finish making our plans and arrangements.
Check our the Gathering Forum for more information about
activities planned for the weekend. And feel free to post if you've got an idea for something else to do and would like to invite others to join you.
Please don't worry if you don't know anyone or are coming alone! Once upon a time we all went to our first Slow Travel get-together not knowing a soul; for some, the Gathering will be their first time to connect with other Slow Travelers in person. No one will be a stranger very long. And quite a few people are coming solo, so it will be easy to connect with others if you want.
So let me extend one last welcome if you haven't yet decided to come to the Gathering.
We would love to have you join us, whether you're a long-time member or new to Slow Travel. You'll experience a great American city in the company of people who have a lot in common with you. You can talk about Italy or France or England with people who are really interested! You might win one of our great door prizes-- maybe even a grand prize. You'll leave with memories and lasting friendships. (Be sure to read
Brenda's list of what you'll bring home from Savannah.)
Hope to see you in Savannah!
Kathy
