I just don't know my plans yet. My parents are going to stay at my house on their way back north, from their place in Florida. It would be either late March or early April and there's a good bet they would stay for the week, I'd just pick a wkd and head down there to visit with them in my house. My educated guess is that it may be the wkd of the house and garden show, which is what we did last year. I really don't know.
At any rate, if my wkd visit happens to coincide with the gathering weekend - I'd love to informally meet up with folks heading down, especially if some of ya'll are just ambling around/shopping. No doubt that's what we would be doing for part of one day anyway.
Thanks Terry and Sandra! It is Forsyth Park, just before Xmas. I lucked out and happened to be there during the Holiday Home and Garden show, as a matter of fact. Just picked that weekend to "winterize" my house and showed up and saw a bunch of folks clutching the tour brochure and map and figured out where the HQ was - and spent the afternoon wandering the beautiful homes they opened for the tour.
I have been able to spend a little time reading about the GTG now, and who is going to be there - I am bummed that I can't commit to a date because it really looks like you are going to have fun! The folks who put this together really outdid themselves - bravo!
Hi, woodstock, Here's hoping you can be there with us! Let us know what happens for you, because I'd dearly love to get together with you, and I know there are others who'd be happy to meet you. This really is the best part of these get-togethers...meeting Slowtravellers!
I am staying a few steps from Forsythe Park, so you've given me a lovely visual of the area. Gorgeous photo! How blessed you are to have a house in Savannah...do you get to spend much time there?
Hi - It's near Savannah, not in Savannah. It is actually closer to Hilton Head but it only takes me about 25-30 minutes to drive to Savannah so I go there each time I visit.
I'll let you know if we are down for the Home and Garden Show!
That'd be cool, woodstock! I'm arriving half-way through the show, so I'll miss some of it, but there are so many very cool tours, fashion shows and other luscious things to do that I'm sure I'll be happy with what is available after I get there.
