Is anyone interested in joining me on a Haunted Savannah after-hours tour, on Saturday April 5th, 2008, after our dinner at Old Fort Jackson? At approximately 10:00 P.M., when our dinner evening is over, we can arrange for the trolley that takes us to Old Fort Jackson to continue on for anyone interested in coming along with me for this eerie evening of chills and thrills...in the darkening hours, just before midnight!Eek

We're still in the planning stages, so all I need right now is an indication of interest from all of you who want to ride the trolley with me, deep into the black Savannah night towards...who knows what?

If we have 35 brave souls, the cost will be $10/per person...more $$ if there are less people, of course.

Screw your courage to the sticking point and say yes!

"Dead time lasts an hour...
half-hour before midnight
till half past.
Half-hour before midnight
for working good...
half-hour after for evil."

Midnight is a Place – Denzil’s Song

Meet me, meet me at Midnight,
Among the Queen Anne’s lace
Midnight is not a moment,
Midnight is a place.

When, when shall I meet you
When shall I see your face
For I am living in time at present
But you are living in space.

Night’s winged horses
No one can outpace
But midnight is no moment
Midnight is a place.

Time is only a corner
Age is only a fold
A year is merely a penny
Spent from a century’s gold.

So meet me, meet me at midnight
(with sixty second’s grace)
Midnight is not a moment;
Midnight is a place.

-- from Joan Aiken's book "Midnight is a Place", one of my favorite children's authors.

Short answer Brenda -- count me in on the cemetery tour!

Me for sure. Cal is out cutting the grass right now. I'll ask him later. (I don't want to distract him from this important job. Must keep the place looking spiffy!)

David says only if you're promising a ghost, but you can count us in as well.

So, intrepid travellers of the darkening netherworld, here's the list of this ghostly group, so far...Eek
Janie
Nancy L
Ginger and Craig
Earline (and maybe Cal)
Marcia and David
Ann
Colleen K
Jen and Chris
Jerry and Paul

Including my ghostly, ghastly self, that's 15 and counting! We need 35 hairy-scarey individuals to break even on the trolley rental/ghost tour, and we are almost 1/2 way there!

As long as the wispy witherings of midnight's shivering wraiths don't frighten the rest of us away, we should be right as rain! Voodoo or no voodoo, this will be a trip into the great void of the beyond, accompanied by flaming black horses and their skeletal riders...

Oh, yes, you can ask...Big Grin

But, truthfully, I've been working for the last week to make sure this Haunted Savannah Almost Midnight Tour is a goody...that it will scare the panties off everyone! I have finally felt the presence of a ghostly co-conspirator coming through the esthers of the Universe to assist me!

I promise you more updates, as the spirit moves me... Joanna's Dancing Man
