As much as I complained about the humidity, I think I did sweat off the MANY calories consumed with all my walking in the beautiful city of Savannah. I make it a habit not to weigh myself after vacations though. It did feel good to get to a spinning class today! These fabulous pralines may have some bearing on any weight gain this weekend and then I brought a pound home for my husband (yeah right, I'm sure he'll eat them all!).
I normally loose 2-5 lbs from all the walking, and we walked almost everywhere in Savannah, because we didn't have a car. But man, I just couldn't walk enough to get rid of the fried chicken, fried fish, pralines, cherry pies, pecan pies, mac & chesse and those little powdered doughnuts that the realtor said were the best in the South (she was right!)
Colleen, I came home with 3 lbs of those sinful things, one box for each of our children.
No weighing around here, no regrets for eating fried green tomatoes for three straight days, and we will not discuss the copious amounts of wine either. I only regret not having that mojito at the mojito bar in the Miama airport, and I don't even like rum!
Greens and fruit, greens and fruit, that is the future.
Thanks Palma! I'll have to try it. It's not the same recipe I have. The one I have has a gooey center and berries. It is too die for and very fattening. When I dig out the recipe I'll send that one for you to try.

You are not to go near a scale for four weeks after a vacation, cardinal rule, really! (the secret is to brake the powered doughnut's in half so the calories float away, no candles or pentagrams, just brake them in half……….well that’s what Minerva said…honest)

I gained 6 pounds - the 6 I had lost for the trip - between Savannah, Florida and the cruise. I am sure it was more like 10, but a few seem to have dissappeared, thankfully.
