Here is the thread on dinner at the Mansion Restaurant-700 Drayton.

I would be glad to add 2-3 more people to our table reservation.

I have posted the link on the thread I mentioned so others can book a table for a party they put together themselves. J.

Thanks for this calendar of events, Terry.
I'm printing it out for my "Going to Savannah!" binder. This way, I can keep the forgetful portions of my mind in some semblance of remembering.

I'll keep you posted on the Lunch Tea with Jean, as we have more information from her. I've called her this afternoon and she is in meetings 'til later tonight. So, I'll call her then and let you know what we've arranged!

I am not sure where to post this, so I thought I would try here first ...

Is there a Sunday dinner planned for the people still in Savannah after brunch?

Inquiring minds and tummies want to know.

Suggestion-- why doesn't one of you who will be in Savannah on Sunday evening start a new thread about the possibility of a group getting together for dinner.

I think it's a great idea! (But unfortunately, we'll be making the long drive home after our Sunday brunch...)

Re: Gingerbread House

Is this a drop in event or are people staying from 6-10 pm?

I assume we will all stay at the Fort from 6-10 pm, since some are doing the trolley ride at 10:00 pm. Is that correct?

And I know we have to leave before others on Sunday, so would we be able to eat at Vic's on the Waterfront between 10:30 & 11:00 am?

Thanks,
J.

We are planning to have the food available at the very beginning of our time. So, a tentative, yes. (Tentative because we are dealing with a restaurant. I hope they will be wonderful, cooperative and punctual but..)

June, everyone will get to and from The Gingerbread House on their own, and can set their own schedule if they want to come a bit late or leave earlier than 10 pm. From attending a couple of other "big" GTGs, I can tell you that the time goes extremely quickly with so many people to talk to. I expect some people won't be ready to leave at 10 pm!

Old Fort Jackson is a few miles outside of the Historic District, and we are providing transportation to and from by trolley for everyone. (Terry is working on the logistics of this and will have more info later for everyone about where and when to meet for your ride.) Many people will be leaving from the Fort to go directly on the Ghost Tour.

For those going to the Fort by trolley, yes, you need to plan to be there for the full time. If anyone thinks that is too much of a good thing Smile, you'll need to make other arrangements for transportation. If you will NOT be going on the trolley, please let Terry know this ASAP so she can include this in her transportation plans. Also, we do have a program (including door prize drawing) at the Fort, so you may not want to leave early! This will be a very full evening!

Hope this helps!

We will undoubtedly be driving to the Gingerbread House on Friday evening, probably earlier rather than later. I've just checked with them about parking, and they have a large lot.

We could take two other people, or three if they're a lot skinnier than we are. We're staying at the Sturbridge Suites on E.Bay St. So, it would be especially convenient for someone else staying there, and we'd be happy to have them accompany us.

Ann, how kind of you to make that offer. I am going to start a new thread for ride-sharing to the Gingerbread House, so it will be easier for everyone to find the information.

Wendy, Rob and Sandra,
I will also be in Savannah on Sunday and Monday night and would be interested in dining with you.

As for carpooling to the Gingerbread House, I will be staying at the Staybridge or Hampton, which is very close to Staybridge and would appreciate a ride. If not, I'll taxicab it.

Sherril,

That is great. It seems bar-b-q is the leaning for Sunday and I am glad you will be joining us.
No matter what we eat, it is most definitely the company.

See you in just a few.

Jane,

Did you receive your Big Email about the Gathering? This was sent out a couple of weeks ago, and in it was the address for the pre-Gathering Gathering, in addition to other good stuff, too. Let me know if you didn't get it, and I'll send another Big Email right out to you!
