Awesome...that's a really lovely way to spend Sunday evening. Thanks for posting this, Jen!

I'm going to browse around for a few places that might be perfect. Any ideas? Suggestions are most welcome!

This is absolutely perfect. I was actually feeling a little sad about the thought of our everyone leaving after brunch, then going back to my apartment to pack...now, I have my caddy tour and this dinner to look forward to!

I'll be back with a few ideas...

I have 2 suggestions although there are so many great places.

B. Matthews-- serves a limited menu---OOPS not open for dinner on Sunday.

Bistro Savannah--is open here's a link to city search to look at it and others.

If we could stay casual with this Cool, I know that we will be spending Sunday night in Savannah, but I'm not sure what we want to do with our last afternoon/evening. One thought we had was to head over to Tybee Island and the Crab Shack since we won't have any other time for that. Don't count us out, but I'm not sure if we can make a decision right now.

Rob and I would love to be a part of this dinner - like minds think together.

Brenda suggested "Jazz'd" as a plce of interest. Rob checked it out and has it in the GPS already, though I may agree with Brenda that this might not be the right venue for this dinner.

Casual yes, early fine, I wondered if we might want to wait and see how many we truly are and see what looks great and maybe what others are talking about through the weekend. Does this make it too spontaneous for this group? I don't know.

Anyway, we would like to be a part of this last event.

Thank you Jen for taking the lead.

Warmly,

Wendy and Rob

These restaurants have great reviews:

Local 11Ten

Elizabeth on 37th

Il Pasticcio

17 Hundred 90

If seafood's your favorite...

Savannah's 10 Best Seafood Restaurants...

Pearl's Saltwater Grille. I love the location on the water, but it is a bit of a drive from where we are staying, I think. Wendy, can you ask Rob to please check it on his GPS? 'Sanks! Smile

Something to keep you salivatin'...just some food for thought!

The web site says that it is 15 minutes from the historic district. Nice pictures on the site, too. Sounds great and would fill my "need" to see something other than where we have been all weekend. We will have a car; perhaps others will as well.

Hello Everyone,

As a former resident of Savannah who will not be able to stay on Sunday night, I highly recommend Bistro Savannah, one of my all-time fave restaurants.

All the best,

Wendy, thanks for letting me know that Rob has already scooped out the location of Jazz'd! That might be a great place to go before the weekend actually begins, also. I don't mind waiting to choose the location later on, either.

Jan, thank you so much for the suggestions! I like to have a lot of choices, and those are great!

Marcia,
Casual's how I would like this, also. I think we can make final arrangements on Friday or Saturday, maybe?

Jen,
I love the idea of sitting over the water, for our final evening in this gorgeous place. Are there any other ideas for a location? I'm quite happy to collect a few favorites and then see how many want to get together.
I'd also like this to be open for people to join in right up until the last moment, if that is possible...there might be people who don't think they can join us, and then find out at the last moment that they can be a part of it...does that make sense?

Leslie, thank you for your recommendation! It helps to have info from an experienced Savannah-ite!

Marcia, I also thought it might be nice to get out of the city, for anyone who hasn't...I'm sure we can take taxis there.

Soon, Savannah!

Casual is our middle name. Perhaps we can call closer to April and see what the skinny is for a group of ?.

Reviews for Pearl's here. She-crab soup?

And we can certainly look at other places, too.

That's is why I was thinking to Not make reservations yet. There may be quite a few who might like to join in on the last bit of fun.

Rob googled "Pearl's" and it came up with 6.7 miles from "The Mansion" and a 17 min. drive. There were a couple of things on the menu for Rob, but he doesn't eat food that comes from the water - with the exception of shrimp now and then, good thing that the 'low country boil' on Sat. is shrimp.

Local 11Ten, Elizabeth on 37th and 17 Hundred 90 are all 'fine dining' = not neccessarily casual. Il Pasticcio looks good, not inexpensive though. The caveat for Il Pasticcio is that they too have live music Tues.- Sat. nights like "Jazz'd".

As far as driving somewhere, we will have a car and I am sure we can get two or three in the back and a couple in the trunk if need be Big Grin

Looks like a nice group will be gathering, we look forward to it.

Brenda-

I agree, I would hate to exclude anyone...so that would be fine, let's wait and see for a couple of weeks. That will give us plenty of time to narrow down the choices...and yes, it would be great if you collected the fav's...thank you so much!

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions!

We fly out early Monday morning, so an early Sunday evening meal is just the ticket. But I would like to keep it open and make a decision just a day or two before. I have a feeling we would lean toward something light after such a food-filled weekend.

I'll still be there and I'd like to have company, but maybe this is a time to have small groups going to different places? I have a tradition of wanting pasta on Sunday night, so Il Pasticcio appeals to me.

All good thoughts, so are we agreed to let float it for awhile? Also, please keep posting here if you are interested in joining us.

I have a hideously early Monday morning flight and also VERY long flight times for the rest of the day, so I'll want to be back after dinner to finish packing Frown and tuck in for the night pretty early.

I'm also not looking for anything huge and heavy...more likely something simple. I may even graze from the lighter side of a menu. As long as I can find something on the menu that contains no gluten/flour, I'm fine. Salads, chicken or fish with veggies all work for me. Il Pasticcio looks great...menu is varied. I just might graze from the Antipasti menu!

So, it's all good...a lovely way to end our time in Savannah together. Wine

I have also eaten more recently at Garibaldi's Thumbs Up
and Clary's Thumbs Down

Garibaldi's is the same owner as Bistro Savannah.
It was really nice!

We are not flying back until Monday, but are not sure at this point if we will be in Savannah Monday night. We have friends who live nearby that we would like to visit, but they are expecting a new grandchild around that time. So if the baby has not yet arrived, we'd be up for joining whatever happens on Sunday night, but can't commit right now.
