MarciaB's hubby, David, came up with an idea for one more contest to continue a bit of the gathering fun. Here's how it's going to work.
You have until I wake up on Wednesday morning and close this thread to post a guess as to how many pictures were taken at the Savannah Gathering from start to finish (aka from 6:00 Friday night until Sunday at 12:30pm), including all events, sightseeing, etc. by all members and participants, but not including the webcam shots.
Post a number here.
Starting Wednesday, we'll have everyone who attended, post their photo counts in a new thread I will start, tally them and who ever comes closest (yes, you can go over) will win some SlowTrav Goodies, a one-year membership, and some other things (yet to be determined) that I'm going to throw in.
Please, one guess, and one guess only per registered member. You did not have to attend the gathering to participate. This is open to everyone. Okay - so how crazy do you think those flashes were going??
Well Doru I have no idea what happened there - you edited your post, and my post quoting you ended up under your name??? See what happens when you mention booze - even the website gets fuzzy!
Anyway, my guess is 16,200.

Sheena, we've definitely established a first! I've no idea what went on there, but hey, I'll just go get a glass of wine and this will make it normal, I guess!
oooo..FUN! Let's see about 85 attendee, averaging 50 shots each is 4,250 PLUS the 3,000 that I'm sure my buddies, Wendy and Rob took all by themselves ....
My guess is 7,250

Ok, I am going to aim higher... 3,000 for Wendy and Rob... about the same for Brenda, and then there's Softdrink / Jill who took close to 70 on the first day alone... with close to 100 attendees and 200 shots on their digital camera memory.. and buying another chip to load more...
If you really want to get technical about this, I can tell you that there were 97 attendees of which 3 were children/young adults and there were 30 couples.
I can't tell you whether the children owned cameras, nor whether the couples each had their own camera or shared.
We also neglected to ask on the registration form just how much (digital) memory each person planned to take!

Well, alright! I'm going with 12,459. It's just a hunch and I'm thinking positive thoughts and ... oh, wait a minute. I tried that system on the super #1 door prize and it didn't work. So, never mind.
Well let's see - with Palma there to photograph all the food, Brenda covering the gorgeous spring blooms, Wendy making sure she had everyone's feet and faces, and Jill covering all the sights -- I'm guessin there were a BUNCH of photos. Except - with all the eatin' and the drinkin' and ghost chasin', no one had a hand free to snap it all.
My guess? 7,817.

OOOPS!
I think Sheena meant 87 attendees.
Here's my guess.
9260.
Totally random... I just know Wendy and Rob were shooting a lot as were Brenda and Jill.

So, Kim, when we all get around to counting up our pictures, are we not supposed to include any that were taken on Thursday at the Pre-Gathering Gathering?
