Hey Roomie!! Thank you for starting this thread! Cha Bella does look good, although I've been thinking about either Jazz'd Tapas Bar or some good 'ole Southern Barbecue! Decisions decisions! But, you know me, I'll go wherever, so put me on the "maybe" list. I don't want to end up in some bar all by myself I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. a presto! Mindy

Colleen, Doyle and I may very well be interested; Cha Bella looks very enticing. I hadn't planned on going to The Mansion because I'm sure I wouldn't want too much to eat by then. (We'll be having lunch in Savannah also that day.) I was just going to play it by ear as well. Do you think they would mind if all I had was one of their delicious sounding "small plates" and a salad? Ann

Ann-I'm sure that the small plates and salad is a perfectly acceptable option and one of the reasons this restaurant appeals to me. Mindy- I love BBQ too and found this interesting link about some tradtional and off the beaten track spots to also consider. The Jazz'd spot looks like fun too but may be too noisy to have a conversation with the live band. Lots of choices-we still have some time to decide. So let's mull it all over a bit.

Here's the link for Jazz'd for those who would like to peruse the menu.

Colleen, I had thought about going to the Jazz'd Tapas Bar also, but it is a bit further away (west) than some of the other places. Another possibility is Skyler's Restaurant in the East Bay Inn. I had read some very good reviews of Skyler's, and it is close to many of the other E. Bay St. hotels. It's also quite reasonable. Ann

Colleen, I agree with you that Cha Bella sounds great. I have to admit that (although my family roots are in the South), I am not crazy about traditional Southern cooking (too much fat and sugar for me), so thanks for sussing out this place, with its somewhat lighter fare. Mike and I will be looking forward to it! - Roz

Yes, count us in, Colleen. Those "small plates" look good to me as well. Your comment about traditional Southern cooking is one of my concerns as well, although my MIL's cooking wasn't all that rich. I'm supposed to be on a low-carb, low-fat diet, so I'll have to be inventive while in Savannah, especially since we'll be there from April 1. See y'all then! Ann

Hi, Colleen, Please count us in for Cha Bella (2 - Kevin Clark and I) as well, if it's not too late. We've always enjoyed your restaurant reviews, and found that we generally enjoy the places that you do, so this is bound to be a good place! Thanks for organizing this! Kim C

Yes Kim, we do seem to like the same restaurants! So I 'll go ahead this weekend and make a reservation for a table for 8: Roz and Mike, Colleen and Mindy, Ann and husband, Kim and Kevin. Can't wait!
