Luxury Living Savannah couldn't have been nicer to talk with about booking with them this morning! I spoke with Tammy Jo and she treated me so kindly and with such good humour and grace.
They have some vacancies left in their properties so if you are thinking of booking with them, you might want to snap your garters and get after it, or everything will be gone!
If staying in their properties is as gracious and lovely as making the booking, I can hardly wait for a year to go by!
They are giving a 13% discount to all Slowtrav members which covers the room tax, so a nice bonus for me! Their properties look amazing, the per day rate factored into their weekly rate is a fair bit less than the standard per day rate, by itself.
I'll be there for the week, Janie for a few days less than a week, so it gives me lots of luscious exploring time at the beginning of my time in Savannah...anyone else coming in a little before the GTG actually begins?
“A Georgia peach, a real Georgia peach, a backyard great-grandmother's orchard peach, is as thickly furred as a sweater, and so fluent and sweet that once you bite through the flannel, it brings tears to your eyes.” ~ Melissa Fay Greene, Praying for Sheetrock Brenda
Marcia, Tammy-Jo has great accommodation, she has bought and renovated some wonderful houses, (we are renting her Washington Square House) but did you also see this posting - it shows the cottages right next door to the house we have and Marie (the owner) will extend a 10% discount to ST members.

I have seen the Pomegranate cottages, thanks, I haven't called about them yet, and I have also seen the place you all are renting.
I have been talking to a few people about sharing and so I don't know yet where we are heading. It's a work in progress , thanks for sharing, let me know if you have anything else that would be helpful.
Pauline, I was seriously considering the Madison Suite in that location. It looks so very nice...I loved the look of the curving staircase and the exterior of the house is gorgeous!
Now, I'm looking for flights from Edmonton to Savannah...it isn't as difficult as I thought. I can fly Air Canada, with a plane change in Chicago. Maybe my travel miles will cover this!
"I stood agog in Lafayette Square in Savannah, amid brick paths, trickling fountains and dark trees hung with Spanish moss. Before me rose up a cathedral of linen-fresh whiteness with twin Gothic spires, and around it stood 200-year-old houses of weathered brick, with hurricane shutters that clearly were still used. I did not know that such perfection existed in America." ~ Bill Bryson - 'The Lost Continent: Travels in Small-Town America' Brenda
Just an update for anyone considering booking accommodations with Tammy Jo at Luxury Living Savannah...I've had to change my arrival and departure days by one day on either end of my booking and Tammy Jo could not have been kinder. Not only has she arranged to change my arrival and departure dates, she's given me a wealth of information about several things to see and more places to check out when in Savannah.
I'm a kitchen traveller, so I'm happy to rent one of Tammy Jo's apartments, because I can bring home scads of yummy stuff from the markets and the local bakeries, stock my fridge and then enjoy!
Thank you so much, Tammy Jo.

My friend and I just booked with Tammy Jo -- the Madison Suite. She is a joy to work with, and I'm absolutely delighted with the accommodations. I'm so looking forward to next April!

She IS a darling... I've talked with her about her addiction to those restorations of her historical houses in Savannah, and it's quite a story! I've had nothing but exceptional service from her and a genuine interest in seeing that what I'm booking is right for me. How cool is that?
I'm happy you called Tammy Jo. I think we'll all love being guests in her homes. They are really beautiful, aren't they?
