This is a little list of things that you may find you've brought back from Savannah with you, although you might not be aware of some of them, at first. After you've been home for a few days or a couple of weeks, it may cross your mind that some of these little things have hung around with you, long after the weekend is over.
'cept for #7...you'll know you've brought that one back with you immediately. The first pair of jeans you try to zip up will tell the tale!

1. Memories…of the faces you’ve seen, the hearts that you’ve become acquainted with and the fabulous new friends that you’ve most assuredly made.

2. Photos…of the exquisite food you’ve eaten, the historic mansions you’ve seen and the liquid libations no doubt devoured by the dozen.

3. Fragments…of a remembrance of the cholesterol-laden treats at Paula Deen’s restaurant, of grains of sand in your shoes from a walk on Tybee beach and of sweet southern talk that’ll be running through your veins like southern bee-honey by the end of the weekend.

4. Thoughts…of late nights with new friends that runs into early mornings with seems-like-old friends, and of the hours spent with everyone you’ll meet along the way.

5. Ideas…for new recipes to try, new wines to buy, new martinis to mix and new desserts to devour.

6. Stories…like the tall tales from the informal cocktail hour at the Gathering Steering Committee’s place, the ghostly goings-on around midnight in the garden, and your own favorite thoughts of this gathering.

7. Ten extra pounds…from too much low country food, too many bottles of wine and too much sittin’ and chattin’ until long past midnight.

8. Laugh lines…gently traced on your face from smiling about the funny stories you’ll hear, the silly things you’ll do and the wonderful time you're bound to have.

9. Total amazement...at the beauty of Bonaventure, the sweetness of Sanvannahians and the lushness of the landscape in this city of the south.

10. A cross-your-heart promise…that you'll come back to Savannah again, meet with all of your ST friends another time and for sure, never-ever forget this amazing weekend.

Thanks, Barb!
I had this list made long before I had to post it today. It was an easy write.
There's something so special for me in getting together with people I've only met on-line, and discovering that they are all fantastic, funny, kindhearted and generous...just how they appear on the message board!

I truly am so excited about this weekend in the beautiful city of Savannah, and I know that the next few weeks will fly by and before I know it, we'll be sitting together and having a great visit!

"You have been my friend.
That in itself is a tremendous thing.
I wove my webs for you because I liked you.
After all, what's a life, anyway?
We're born, we live a little while, we die.
A spider's life can't help being something of a mess,
with all this trapping and eating flies.
By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle.
Heaven knows anyone's life can stand a little of that." ~ E. B. White's Charlotte in "Charlotte's Web"

Most welcome, Sandra,
Thank you for your kind words! Blushing

I've wanted to visit Savannah for years, and never had the courage to visit her by myself. This is perfect! I get to be there, along with my Slowtrav friends...what could be better than this? Wine

Thom and I are eagerly awaiting departure day to Savannah to reconnect with so many warm, funny, generous, thoughtful and smart STG folk that we met in Brevard NC last fall. We had a wonderful time meeting Pauline and Steve and kaydee and Leslie and so many along with the gracious hospitality extended by linda and John Candler and their lovely home. We are soooo looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting other STG folk!
