Are you interested in sharing accommodations with another Slow Travelers or a group?
Post here to let others know you might be interested. Then follow up with each other via private message or e-mail. Several of our recommended B&Bs and hotels have ideal arrangements for sharing. And there are also a variety of rental properties in Savannah, many available for less than a week.
I know it's early, but I'll be searching for a mature roommate(s) (in age, not state of mind ) to share accommodations during the Slow Travel 2008 GTG. I am looking to book at the Staybridge Suites on Bay Street in Savannah's Historic District for three nights, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Cindy

I just emailed kaydee re sharing accommodations in one of the cottages she mentioned, then I scrolled on down and saw this thread! I should research things more carefully before jumping in.
My husband and I would be interested in sharing one of the cottages that sleep 6.
Hi, I will be going alone, to the great gathering, and would love to share a room. I love to have fun, very open minded, a very young mid 60's. I am not concerned about age, as much as would love to be with someone who loves to have fun, well.....I guess, thats everyone planning on coming.
Anyway, you can contact me at my email, posted on my personal page. I will be traveling from the Seattle area. I am planning to arrive on Thurs April 3rd and leave ?? on Monday April 7. At least that is what I am thinking right now. Any suggesttions ?
I wouldn't mind sharing a room. I would however warn all, that at times I do snore. I'm female, late 40's and I may be driving into Savanah, not sure yet.

Quick note from a late registrant... hoping to find a friendly , fun, female to share accomodations preferrably in the historic district . Shared like this for the Luberon Experience this past May and had a wonderful time !I am 59 , Canadian lady, from the west coast.. adding the Savannah gathering to the front of a week long visit to Macon area for the birth of my grandchild. Would love to hear from someone interested in sharing a better than average room for two or three nights.

I'm newly registered and wondering if anyone is still looking for a possible room-mate. I would like to stay in the historic district and arrive April 3rd Thurs. and will leave Monday April 7th. I'm easy going, fun loving and independent. Email me if there's a possibility of sharing. Barb Cabot (bcwired@verizon.net)

Hi I just read your note ( I am completely new to this stuff and can't even figure out how to respond to your email. Hope this is working) Anyway I am looking for a roomate to share with on Friday and Saturday nights.I am 60 and teach languages (Italian French and Spanish)in Connecticut. I am planning a trip to Italy in the summer and also am thinking about doing some event planning there as well so I thought that I would give the weekend a try. Perhaps I will meet some intersting people and network a bit. What do you think? I am very flexible-just need a clean place and a good bed-it does not have to be very expensive or fancy. I like the idea of the historic district but when I checked the accomodations much seemed to already be taken. Let me know what you think as I haven't even made flight plans. There is also the possibility of doing a flight and hotel pkg. with expedia or orbtiz. Hope to speak to you soon, Aline Libassi
Although it isn't strictly accomodations DH and I will be driving from Phoenix. Leaving March 29th planning on going to Carlsbad, San Antonio, New Orleans, Atlanta either on the way or on the way back. We have a Honda Element which is extremely roomy (even with tortuga - my scooter) and if someone would like to share gas, driving duties click on my screen name and my e mail will pop up.
Hi. I have gone ahead and made a reservation at the Staybridge Suites in Historic Savannah, where several other of the group are staying. Since I am staying on AFTER the Gathering, I had to make the reservation for two different prices. The first two nights (Friday and Saturday) will be $145/night and the second two nights will be $198.99/night. When the rates are combined, it turns out to be $172/night or a mere $86/night if two people share the suite. I took a room with two Double Beds, Non-smoking. The reservation is for April 4, 5, 6 and 7 (Friday through Monday nights). I am leaving on the 8th. If someone was also staying beyond Sunday, that would be my preference. If not, someone could share for the two nights (Fri. and Sat.) for $290 before the hotel's cut-off date for the special rate ($145/night) or $344 if the decision is after the cut-off date, which is March something?? Also, if possible, could this post be moved up to the top of this string, in order to increase the chance of members seeing it. Thanks, Sherril
