So, I have finally been able to contact Aeroplan.
Sheena, it's a good thing you posted here. After I read what you said, I tried again, and voila!
A real human being actually answered the phone at the Aeroplan office after much voice recognition thingies, and I've booked my flight with travel miles...in business class, no less!
It looks like this:
Edmonton-Chicago-Savannah
Only 7 hours air time
Great departure and arrival times, with the exception of the morning flight coming home.
That flight leaves Savannah at 7:00 A.M. This so-not-a-morning-person will be dragging my sleepy head out of bed in the middle of the night for this flight, but I'll be home by late afternoon, and I'll nap on the flight, for sure.
WHEW! That's a stressful thing for me, booking flights.

Thank you so much for your encouragement and advice, everyone. That is what makes this community of travellers so wonderful!

I've also just spoken with Tammy Jo, the owner of Luxury Living Savannah, and she's able to change my apartment rental dates to accommodate for the change in travel dates, so all is well in the land of Oz.
This woman is fantastic and she has been such a gem to help me. I'll post some very kind words about her and her company on the Luxury Living Savannah topic here, and I'd encourage anyone who hasn't booked accommodations yet to call her. She has such glorious rental homes and apartments.

It feels like I'm actually going to Savannah, now!

I tell ya, after all of this to-ing and fro-ing, it's a miracle. I so appreciate all of your advice and help...huge thanks to you, June, and to everyone on this board who has been so kind to me. Let's go to Savannah, folks!
