Just a reminder that in the US car rental prices seem to increase closer to the rental date - so if you need a car book it soon!

I have just reserved (no obligation) a mid-sized car with Avis, pick up in Charleston SC on April 1st, drop off in Savannah on April 8th. Base cost $182.97 - with taxes $253.99. I did this via Alaska Airlines over the phone (whilst booking FF tickets to the Gathering Yeah!) I have no further details, and I haven't done any comparison shopping yet!
