We are going to England for 6 months with my husbands work. We started process to take our cat as the job may go longer. At then end of the process we have to have this indoor cat treated for ticks. Our Vet says there is no safe way to treat a cat for ticks - all the products are toxic for cats. I called the office in England but they said it has to be done and they had not heard it was toxic. Has anyone else delt with this?

Thanks

You've probably already seen this, but here's the UK DEFRA web site - it explains the UK requirements for importing pets and avoiding the quarantine.

I've only done it for dogs, though, so can't comment on your specific question for a cat.

I remember that Pauline had researched taking a cat to England a few months ago. Check out here travel notes about taking pets to the UK here.

I have not heard the tick treatment is not safe. My vet read that part and said he would do it for Buddy. I would get a second opinion on this.
