Hello,

My husband and I will be stopping in Londin on our way home from Italy. We are considering extending this stop and taking a 2 or 3 night cycle trip in the Cotswolds. Can people give their opinions of what a nice itinerary would be (we are hoping to find a tour company that will drop off our bags at our next location), any good cycling companies they know of, what people think wether might be like, and towns or villages that you just loved. Also, please recommend places to stay. We would like to stay in town since we will not have a car. Thanks!

Hi there

Have a look at this link from Gloucester county council, which seems quite comprehensive. I think Sherpa will transfer luggage - but would they transfer me when its pouring with rain and the only way is up?

Leebachaya, have you looked at This site? I know nothing about them but I know the places that they take you to, which are nice Smile and I would guess that they would rescue you from the pouring rain!

You ask about the weather - you know, in England, all anyone can tell you is what it should be like for any particular time of year but there are no guarantees and a cagoul is always a good idea....you don't say what time of year you are going to be there?

WE've biked quite a bit in the Cotswolds although always rented bikes and arranged our route independently (have family there). There is good bike rental at the toy shop on Moreton in Marsh high street if you want to do that.

There's also this company based in Chipping Campden - I don't know anything about them but that's a good place to start with fairly easy riding south into the Cotswolds from there.

(You don't say how far you want to go a day, but watch your route - the hills can be pleasantly undulating or you can find yourself with some very tough up hill pulls if you iwnd up and down the escarpment too much.)
